Moving In Your Sleep Vs. Nothing Is Wrong

OK, a bit of fun here...

I chose these two songs because personally, they are my two favourite Peter H songs by a country mile - perhaps some of you might feel the same. If I had a gun to my head and asked to choose my favourite, I feel it would be a bit of a struggle to ascertain my most sincere choice, but when pushed I think I would blurt out 'Moving In Your Sleep', mainly due to the key change in the middle-eight which absolutely kills me slightly moreso than 'Nothing Is Wrong' does... But what a close call.

"There may come a DAY... when YOU.... REM-EM-BER ME!

...Remember me...!"

Two of the most heartbreaking songs of all time - but which would you choose if it was a matter of 'Moving' or 'Love'? To me it's like choosing a favourite child, but hey I'm curious.

"I see lo-oo-ve...."

I'm beginning to think Alex Chilton and Chris Bell never equaled this song they irrefutably inspired. It has all the trademarks of their songwriting, but I wonder if they ever took it this far.

Either way - I can't believe I've been without these songs until recent months.

Excuse my typos/grammar - I'm drunk. But what do yous think?

(Shall think of Stamey numbers when I'm more lucid.)

Re: Moving In Your Sleep Vs. Nothing Is Wrong

I agree: you're drunk.

Both those songs are awesome, but the fact is you don't have a gun to your head, so you don't need to choose. Enjoy 'em both.

Now, if it turns out you actually DO have a gun to your head you're on you're own; I'm not going to be held responsible for that one.

How cool would it be, by the way, if you saw a report on CNN of a shooting in which the deranged gunman actually forced his victim to choose between two dB's songs?

Re: Re: Moving In Your Sleep Vs. Nothing Is Wrong

Not Cool

Okay, I could not resist.

Re: Moving In Your Sleep Vs. Nothing Is Wrong

Right on,Paul!
The middle-eight of Moving In Your Sleep is my favorite part of the song as well.It always reminded
me of some of those songs from the 50's with the "doo-wah" vocals.Very tasteful,Peter!
I've always wondered if there was a particular song that inspired Peter when he composed the middle eight part. Are you out there,Peter?
