Re: Good uses for demos

Embarrassingly enough, I used someone else's demo to record over for the demo of "Today Could Be the Day". By the time we got around to recording the song for TSOM, we tried to replicate the sound of the backward notes at the beginning of the tape. Painstakingly done, it still sounds better on the demo (IMHO) and maybe one day the world will get to hear it in that form.

There are a number of mixes of "Soul Kiss"; honestly, I'm not sure which one is which, maybe one of my compadres can help on that. The first mix is the one on the flip side of "Black and White" which has its little dub section following. Another one is an alternative that showed up on "Sharp Cuts", the Planet Records 'new wave' sampler. It came from a reel that had a bunch of alternative mixes, and the fine folks at Planet actually chose one we'd rejected! That's about the best I can do identifying stuff.
