A friend in Robert Palmer

I heard on NPR that the New York Times has opted to make it's website free. Among other things I did a search on "The dB's" on NYTimes.com and found an amazing number of accolades written by him (not all of which were available for free!? Hmm...) including:

"the dB's have made the most impressive pop-rock debut since the emergence of Elvis Costello five years ago."

I'm not sure exactly why I'm posting this, but it was a pretty cool glimpse back into those lively and interesting times.

I miss Robert Palmer.

Re: A friend in Robert Palmer

I miss him too. He was one of the finest music writers ever. I had the pleasure of having dinner with him once.
His knowledge of everything from Charlie Patton to Ornette Coleman was amazing.

Bob
